This last week the city had to slash $60 Million from the City Budget and decided to take it from roads and transit. All while discussions are ongoing about the Green Line.
The Mayor is blaming the cuts on the UCP calling them “ginormous”. He also claims that the city has done a “great job” managing the budget.
If by doing a “great job” he means taking away from the citizens and giving money to billionaires then the city is doing a awesome job.
On one hand he criticizes the UCP for cutting the provincial budget, while the other hand is firmly handing approximately $300 Million to the Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corp, the owners of the Calgary Flames. Maybe if Nenshi and the rest of council got with the program and stopped giving out corporate welfare, then they would have a legitimate complaint. Until then this is nothing but hot air from our Mayor.
